The snow falls gently
On the trees
The smell of pine
In the breeze
Sometimes to look
Just sit and stare
Let the world pass by…
I couldn’t care!
For all is here
(At least to me)
Maine:
The way life should be!
Please don’t destroy
This beautiful place
Use good judgment,
Along with grace!
For once destroyed
It’s gone for good
Do what’s right
You know you should!
Please preserve
What we can’t replace
Don’t wake up too late
With egg on your face!
Why not use Mack Point?
The critics say
And leave Sears Island
So all can play.
For such a place, that is so rare
Should be left unspoiled
For all to share!
This beautiful place
‘Twixt land and sea
But this line wasn’t penned by me
“Maine: The way life should be!”
If someone was
To query why (?)
Did I choose
This place to die?
Easy to explain it is
Just look around and see
Because we all know by now
It’s the way life is supposed to be!
This little rhyme is kinda funny
Don’t decide just based on money
We can’t bring back what is gone
Even if I wrote a song
But the attention shouldn’t be on me
But on Maine:“The Way Life Should Be!!”
